Tyndall Carbon Budget Reports - Quantifying the implications of the United Nations Paris Agreement for local areas
Tyndall Carbon Budget Reports present recommended climate change commitments for UK local authority areas that are aligned with the commitments in the United Nations Paris Agreement, informed by the latest science on climate change and defined by science based carbon budget setting.
The Reports can be used to calculate carbon budgets for any part of the United Kingdom from local authority area scale up to regions and devolved administrations. The carbon budgets translate the “well below 2°C and pursuing 1.5°C” global temperature target and equity principles in the United Nations Paris Agreement to sub-national areas within the UK. Unitary, country council or combined authorities can select constituent LA areas within their boundaries to calculate relevant budgets for their geographic areas.
